Landon Donovan is headed back to England. The LA Galaxy star has re-joined Everton on a two-month loan. The earliest Donovan could suit up for the Toffees would be January 4 against a Stuart Holden-less Bolton. Here’s a list of the fixtures that could include the MLS Cup MVP. Plenty of news to go around these parts, as the Vancouver Whitecaps officially welcomed Lee Young-Pyo to MLS. Lee is a South Korean international (retired) formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, among a host of other clubs.

The Sounders have tracked down their Kasey Keller replacement, signing Austrian Michael Gspurning as their new No. 1 goalkeeper.

With the College Cup wrapping up this weekend, it’s time to look ahead at the 2012 MLS SuperDraft. Here’s my board of best players to choose from, as well as profiles of North Carolina and Creighton, both entrants in the College Cup.

MLS also released the initial combine list today.

D.C. declined the option of two familiar faces: Santino Quaranta and Clyde Simms, with one eye on make future moves.

Rumor became reality today, as Seattle Sounders FC announcer Arlo White was officially announced as the voice of MLS on NBC Sports for 2012. The Seattle Times with a Q&A here.

Sepp Blatter is taking heat…again. One of the only MLS players with the ability to really get Blatter’s attention has spoken out, calling the FIFA President’s comments “appaling.” Blatter is now “sorry,” but he’s not going to resign.

Some things to know about David Beckham’s Sunday opponents. Beckham’s side are certainly being touted as the favorites, with one pundit saying anything less than lifting the trophy would be a “disaster.”

If history is any indication, should Houston go down a goal Sunday night, don’t count them out.

Sporting KC forward Teal Bunbury pulled out of the U.S. U-23 camp because of an ankle injury picked up in Sunday’s 2-0 loss against the Houston Dynamo.

Speaking of the U-23s, Jason Davis of the Best Soccer Show had a lengthy, informative interview with Caleb Porter. Apparently, the coach hints at some Olympic qualifiers/training camps in KC or Tennessee – no official word is out yet though.

UNC rolled past NC State in the men’s ACC tournament while Maryland was upset by Boston College.

The MLS playoffs hit a new gear this weekend, with four matchups taking place over the course of Saturday and Sunday. Eight teams are left after the elimination of Columbus and FC Dallas, and within a week, the number will be trimmed even further.

There’s big news ahead of the New York-FC Dallas matchup on Wednesday night, as striker Luke Rodgers is officially out for tomorrow night’s game. 10kit will have plenty of MLS Cup playoff coverage starting tomorrow.

FRI Sept. 30 (AM): MLS, USMNT, EPL, and More

Thrilling Thursday MLS action saw the Philadelphia Union take a vital three points from DC United. Philly sprinted to an early 2-0 lead thanks to Sebastien Le Toux before Dwayne De Rosario and Andy Najar led DC back before the half. The winner came from Michael Farfan in the 57th minute. Highlights here.

Dwayne De Rosario limped off in the 61st minute,  which had some DC folks pretty upset.

Paris St. Germain is ready to step up its efforts to sign David Beckham when his contract expires in November.

Gooch is back. Oguchi Onyewu is back on the USMNT roster as Jurgen Klinsmann has named his 22-man roster for October friendlies against Honduras and Ecuador.
