10 Kit Wants to Serve You This World Cup

We know you’re there. We see the stats on our analytics page. In  the first month since launch, 10 Kit has attracted well over 5,000 visits, from over 70 countries (we’re not sure whether to count the one hit from Botswana, East Timor or Mongolia).

We’re on the brink of the World Cup, and our man Noah Davis is in South Africa ready to follow the team. Plus we’ve got a growing team of correspondents across the country and around the world anxious to provide content and commentary our readers will enjoy. But we need your help.

Believe us, 10Kit is here to stay. For several of us, this is our career.  So please, tell us what you want to see on 10Kit, now and in the future.

What do you want it to be? We’ll make sure it happens. We want to be your reference point for American soccer. Tell us how to do that. Send us an email, or drop a comment below, or anywhere else. We’re listening.

The USA 10 Kit Drops By The American Soccer Show

NOAH DAVIS – Last night, Match Fit USA‘s Jason Davis was nice enough to have me as a guest on The American Soccer Show. We chatted about the 23-man roster, the fitness of the backline, and other issues as the United States Men’s National Team prepares to play Turkey on Saturday and then head to South Africa. Check it out if you get a chance. (I come on around minute 33, but listen to the whole show.)

Kicking & Screening Film Festival

Last year, Friend of 10 Kit Greg Lalas (currently editor-in-chief of MLSSoccer.com) and Rachel Markus founded Kicking & Screening, a multi-city film festival dedicated to the beautiful game. I caught a screening of Les Yeux dans les Bleus in Washington D.C.’s French Embassy last year, and it was an experience not to be missed.

The second annual New York edition takes place from June 1-5 with some excellent flicks. Nike stadium on Bowery will host the final night.

K&S is an awesome idea, organized by two of the sport’s most dedicated solders. Get you tickets now.

After the jump, a full lineup.

Kicking and Screening Tickets Now on Sale in NY

I’ve never actually gotten to go, since I live in places like Senegal and Guatemala, where festival founders Rachel Markus and Greg Lalas are yet to plan a go, but I’m told soccer’s own American film festival is well worth the (small) price of admission.

It’s on again in New York, it seems, so why not check it out if you are in the area? What is it, exactly, you ask? Well, let’s let them explain:

The mission of Kicking & Screening is to bring together soccer fans and cinephiles to celebrate the beauty and passion of soccer as captured and expressed on film.

Founded in April 2009, Kicking & Screening is the first film festival in the United States devoted solely to “the beautiful game.” From inspiring films to insightful panel discussions, K&S provides films and filmmakers with a forum to show and discuss their work and unites the fans who make soccer the international passion it is.

Insight, inspiration, unity, passion.  What more could a soccer fan ask?

An introduction to The 10 Shirt

This is not just another soccer blog. We are professional soccer reporters; it’s our job. We’re also American, which means we’re a rare breed, navigating a challenging and ever-evolving landscape to bring news and analysis to soccer fans worldwide.

And there’s plenty to the stories we cover that you won’t find in our work elsewhere — in depth information that you, the hard core American soccer fan, will want to know on a daily basis. This is our collaborative effort to do so. Feel free to let us know how, or if you’ve got a perspective to add, join us. At The 10 Shirt, we’re always looking for that new angle.
