Robbie Rogers’ time in MLS has come to an end, as he agreed to sign with Championship side Leeds United, pending work permit approval. Not sure if he stands a chance or not of signing, but it’s an interesting move and one to keep an eye on.

The other big Americans abroad story of the week is the possible transfer of Tim Ream to Bolton for £2.5 million looking more and more likely.

Meanwhile, the Crew moved on from that by finally announcing the signing of forward Ben Speas, from the University of North Carolina, to a homegrown player deal.

The Sounders have once again tapped Scandinavia for talent, this time bringing in midfielder Christian Sivebaek out of Denmark.

On the eve of the MLS SuperDraft, there’s plenty of player acquisitions going on elsewhere, with the Fire also announcing the signing of forward Federico Puppo.

Rumor has it that the U.S. Open Cup is going to look a lot different in 2012, including all 16 U.S.-based MLS squads, instead of having play-in games.
